Holy Sepulchre burial and resurrection of Jesus at Easter
Holy Sepulchre burial and resurrection of Jesus at Easter

Most people have heard about the Jewish festival of lights, known as Hanukah or dedication. Many also know that Hanukah celebrates the victory of the Maccabees, who represent Orthodox Judaism over the Hellenists, Jews who had adopted Greek religious customs.

This happened after the peaceful conquest by Alexander the Great of Judea (333BCE), bringing Jews into contact with the Greek religion.

The old adage that history is written by the victors, applies here.

The Maccabees erase all mention of the Hellenists from Judaism and nothing more is heard of them in Jewish history, but, behind the scenes of Jewish History Hellenists created a new Monotheistic religion, based on the Greek belief that God had a son. (Dionysius, Heracles, Phaethon and others)

Verses in the Jewish Bible which mention that God had a son (Psalms 2:7, Isaiah9:6), and verses relating to the virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14), also a Greek belief, convinced Hellenists that a synthesis between Judaism and Hellenism existed.

The Hellenists were so convinced of the correspondence between Judaism and Greek Religion that they adopted the statement concerning a new covenant in the book of Jeremiah (Jeremiah 31:31-34) as applying to their new Monotheistic religion, later, after the crucifixion, they called the book recounting the history and beliefs of their religion, The New Testament.

Despite all their efforts, however Jews didn't join the ranks of the new form of Judaism and antagonism against Orthodox Judaism grew apace. Their ranks swelled, however as Gentiles converted to the new version of Judaism, increasing the number of anti-Semites.

Persecution of Jews by the new religion began in earnest after the crucifixion̈ when Jews were portrayed as killers of their own god,

It was at this time that the new Monotheism became known as Christianity.

The narrative that Christianity and antisemitism are rooted in the same historical event, namely the Maccabean wars against Hellenists, 300 years before Jesus, being a contradiction of the origin of Christianity in the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus, can't be acceptable to Christianity.
